Wizards District Gaming Selects Four Players in 2019 NBA 2K League Draft

BROOKLYN, NY – Wizards District Gaming selected four players in the 2019 NBA 2K League Draft Tuesday at Barclays Center.

Wizards DG picked up USERPICK (Michael Albiter) with the 34th overall selection of the draft before taking PaulB (Paul Bradford) No. 48 overall. The team then used its 54th and 68th picks on unretained players ReeseDaGod 23 (Maurice Delaney) and xGREATxGILLY13 (Isaac Gilton), respectively.

“We’re incredibly excited to welcome USERPICK and PaulB to D.C. and are thrilled to have both ReeseDaGod23 and xGREATxGILLY13 returning for another season,” Grant Paranjape, Director of Esports at Monumental Sports & Entertainment, said. “We believe we’ve found a great combination of top-tier talent and complimenting personalities and can’t wait to compete for the NBA 2K League season two title.”

The players in today’s draft were selected from a pool of 198 draftees, which consisted of 144 new players who were selected by the league following an extensive tryout process, six players from the league’s first-ever APAC Invitational, and 48 unretained players from the inaugural season. With the addition of four expansion teams in the NBA 2K League’s second season, the league’s 21 franchises now include a total of 126 players.

Wizards DG acquired power forward Dayfri (Ryan Conger) from Mavs Gaming for its 2019 first-round draft pick (14th overall pick) in late September. He joins Wizards DG’s top pick from a year ago, point guard Demon JT (Johnathon Fields), on this year’s squad.
