Wizards District Gaming entered Week 9 needing just one win against Knicks Gaming to officially clinch a spot in the NBA 2K League Playoffs and avoid having to play in The Ticket Tournament. After dropping Game 1 against Knicks Gaming by a narrow 75-72 margin, WDG booked its ticket to the postseason with a 73-71 win in Game 2. Newdini was named player of the night after an 11-point, seven rebound effort from the power forward position in Game 2 helped WDG clinch a spot in the playoffs.
Wizards District Gaming vs Gen.G Tigers of Shanghai
With a playoff spot in hand, WDG closed out Week 9 with a two-game set against the Gen.G Tigers of Shanghai. WDG cruised against Gen.G and swept the Tigers via a 73-67 margin in Game 1 and a blowout 79-56 victory in Game 2. Dayfri was the standout player for WDG on the night with 15 points, eight rebounds and five assists in Game 1 and a 16-13-10 triple double in Game 2.
